Mother of the Eucharist
The Dominican Sisters of Mary hold vocation discernment retreats, auctions, dinners and other types of events. We’d love for you to join us at one of our gatherings!
The Sisters invite you to join them on a spiritual retreat that includes Holy Mass, Divine Office, Rosary and the opportunity to enjoy time with the Sisters. You will hear conferences given about Mary and the Eucharist, as well as on the specific theme of the retreat. Please note: Vocational Discernment Retreats are for young women between the ages of 16 (high school juniors) and 30.
Why do so many young women, often numbering well over a hundred, come for a twenty-four hour retreat? What is it that attracts them from all parts of the United States and Canada? For each young woman, the answer is different and the experience unique.
The following are a few glimpses of the retreats in the words of the young women who have experienced the retreats themselves:
“…I have to say that your retreat was more intense than any retreat I’ve ever gone on….”
“…you and your sisters are such a blessing and amazing example of purity and beautiful femininity, I can’t tell you what a joy it is for me to see you!…”
“I just want to tell you how much fun I had on your retreat and that if I do have a vocation to be a Sister, I think I would be a Sister of Mary, Mother of the Eucharist…”
Cost: Nonrefundable $35 registration fee. Please pay online using the form below. To pay by check or cash, please contact vocations@sistersofmary.org
If you are flying in, please plan to arrive on Friday and leave on Sunday. While we are most happy to provide transportation from the airport on Fridays and back to the airport on Sundays, because this is a convent (with a monastic schedule) we ask that you please observe the following spaces of time in which to arrive and/or depart at Detroit Metro Airport (DTW):
The same would necessarily apply to those traveling by train or bus. We ask that you please try not to fly in on Saturday or need a Sunday stay-over.
Due to the volume of retreatants, please email your arrival plans (other than by car) at least one week in advance to ensure that we will be able to get you. This is an issue of respect, again, in dealing with a contemplative/active community of Religious Sisters who are hosting the retreat. Thank you for your understanding. Please keep these retreats in your good prayers and know that we will also be praying for you!
